Identical triplets born at Woman's are one in a million
BATON ROUGE- A set of identical triplets are born, despite the odds.
"The chances of identical triplets that are conceived spontaneous, meaning with no fertility assistance is probably less than one in one-million," said Dr. Edward Veillon at Woman's Hospital.
Identical triplets, Eden, Cherish and Harmony were born at 29 weeks old, on May 10th. Their parents say they were shocked, because they thought they couldn't have any more kids. Now they're happy to have three little girls, they hope to have home from the hospital soon.
"I feel like if I'm there, they'll do better, you know, knowing that I'm there and they'll be ok," says their dad, Lavex Winwatts.
The girls are expected to be home by July.
"It just matters that they survived and they become who they need to be in society and that's all I'm concerned with," explained Kimberly Cosey-Watts.
