BATON ROUGE - Owners of The 13th Gate, are considering expanding on a plot of land, just south of Central.

The 75 acres, located on the east side of Joor Rd., south of Mickens Rd. could be home to a number of attractions, including a haunted hayride, outdoor laser tag, corn maze and a haunted house.

The city-parish Planning Commission is considering the plans, while residents had a chance to voice their opinions at a community meeting tonight.

Dwayne Sanburn of Midnight Productions, which owns The 13th Gate, was present to answer questions.

Sanburns says the company is looking to hire at least 100 people and build a family-friendly center for fun.

Neighbors to the proposed plot of land, say the development would be good for the area.

"The kids need to have fun," said Donvonte Mobley. "Stop all the violence."

The rezoning of the proposed plot of land, will be voted on at this Wednesday's Metro Council meeting.
