Ida remains a strong tropical storm with winds of 70 mph, and is located about 115 miles SSE of the Mouth of the Mississippi River. Further weakening is likely throughout the day.
Part of the center of circulation of Ida is now exposed letting in drier air. Also, Ida is moving over cooler waters.

The storm is moving to the NNW near 17 mph, and a turn to the north,
then to the north-north-northeast is expected over the next 24 hours. On this forecast track, Ida is expected to make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast on Tuesday morning near the Alabama and Florida border.
Since Ida is no longer a hurricane...ALL Hurricane Watches have been cancelled along the Louisiana and Mississippi Coasts.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect from Grand Isle, LA eastward to the Aucilla River in Florida. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the warning area within 24 hours.
