BAYOU SORREL - Two teen sisters struck by a hit-and-run driver are recovering in Iberville Parish tonight.
Tyler Ganaway and her sister C'Leste were waiting for the school bus in Bayou Sorrel when they said a pickup knocked them off the side of the road.
"He hit me and my sister and we went rolling down a hill," Tyler said.
Investigators said the pickup belonged to Mark Tullier, 52. The 13-year-old and 15-year-old girls had minor injuries from the wreck, and said Tullier stopped to see if they were okay.
However, he didn't call police or the girl's parents.
"He was just like I need to go to work, so I'm gonna get in my car and go," said C'Leste.
The girls managed to walk home, and their parents took them to the hospital. Investigators said the teen's description of the pickup led to Tullier's arrest.
"He didn't stop to render aid. The kids were shaken up. They didn't know what was going on," said Major Johnny Blanchard with the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office.
In addition to hit and run, Tullier is charged with driving under suspension, having expired plates and no insurance.
