BATON ROUGE - An area bar owner has been booked on rape charges for the second time in recent months after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at his home.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Ryan Glaser was charged with first-degree rape Tuesday after the encounter at his house. Glaser is the owner of the Sandbar, a local bar and grill on the False River.

The victim told officers that she had been invited to Glaser's home for drinks on the night of the incident. The two eventually began kissing and soon ended up in Glaser's bed.

According to the affidavit, Glaser then climbed on top of the woman and told her "I'm gonna show who I really am". The victim told officers she became scared and didn't know what to do.

The report from the sheriff's office says Glaser then began to choke the victim as they were having sex, nearly causing her to lose consciousness. She allegedly told Glaser to stop and that he was hurting her, but he refused, the affidavit says.

The report goes on to say that Glaser held the crying victim's arms down to keep her from resisting until he finished.

The victim told officers she was too afraid to leave Glaser's home until the next morning.

Glaser was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. It's his second arrest in recent months after he was booked in September for similar allegations.
