BATON ROUGE - Interstate 12 westbound is shut down after a wreck involving two 18-wheelers at the Amite River Bridge.

For the latest traffic information, visit the DOTD 511 website.

The wreck happened just around 10:15 a.m. at the bridge between the O'Neal and South Range exits. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto Juban Road and around to O'Neal.

State Police said there were no life-threatening injuries, and EMS transported one person to the Ochsner Medical Center on O'Neal.

State Police did not have a timeline of how long the interstate could be shut down.
