I-12 back open after chicken truck wreck
LIVINGSTON - State Police reopened I-12 East in Livingston Parish Wednesday after shutting it down for hours to clear away the wreck of an overturned truck hauling Popeye's chicken.
State Police said the tractor-trailer flipped on its side Tuesday evening past the LA 63 / Livingston exit. Troopers said the trailer full of chicken had to be unloaded by hand.
Authorities estimated the recovery work would take about five hours, and shut one lane of I-12 East down during that time.
DOTD said traffic was backed up past Walker when the interstate was fully reopened.
