I-10 open after shooting shut down traffic

BATON ROUGE- All lanes of I-10 Eastbound across the Mississippi River have are now open.

Lanes were closed after a shooting near the I-10/110 Junction around 7p.m. Wednesday.

A Baton Rouge Police spokesperson said things started with an altercation involving the victim in Port Allen, and led to a shooting just after the bridge. EMS said a gunshot victim was picked up from I-10 East at the Nicholson exit and taken to an area hospital.

Police stopped traffic before the Nicholson exit on I-10 East, and authorities were diverting traffic at LA 415 and LA 1 on the West Baton Rouge side of the bridge.
