I-10 West reopens following crash on Mississippi River Bridge
BATON ROUGE - I-10 West has reopened following following a multiple-vehicle accident on the Mississippi River Bridge.
The wreck closed all lanes of the new bridge just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. It remained closed for about 1.5 hours, while tow trucks worked to load the cars and remove them.
The accident caused a back-up that reached past Dalrymple of I-10 West. The lanes are still backed-up at the time of this post.
Many drivers took US 190 West as an alternate route. It's currently closed to one lane because of construction, but crews picked-up the closed lane to alleviate some of the traffic congestion.
No word on any injuries to anyone involved in the accident.
