BATON ROUGE - Officials say an accident involving multiple vehicles has shut down all lanes traveling eastbound on I-10, between the 10/12 split and Siegen Lane.

State police say delays can be expected for most of the day.

I-10 West at Siegen, as well as the I-12 westbound on-ramp to I-10 are also shutdown.

Police say three 18-wheelers and an overturned car were involved in an accident early Wednesday morning on I-10 East near Essen Lane.

Officials say one of the trucks is leaking isobutene.

Fire and Hazmat crews are on the scene working to clear the wreckage.

At least 2 people were transported from the scene of the accident.

No word on the extent of their injuries.
