I-10 reopened on Basin Bridge
BREAUX BRIDGE - I-10 east is now open after an accident involving an 18-wheeler with hazardous materials on the Basin Bridge, according to State Police.
Officials say the blockage was just past the Atchafalaya River Highway exit. Traffic heading eastbound was diverted to I-49.
I-10 westbound was briefly closed several times, but is also now reopened. DOTD says the congestion has cleared up.
Police say phosphoric acid started leaking onto the street because of the accident. Hazmat crews were called to the scene. There were no injuries.
