I-10 reopened after wreck on Miss. River bridge
BATON ROUGE - Traffic officials closed I-10 East over the Mississippi River Bridge for almost an hour after a wreck Monday afternoon.
The wreck happened around 4 p.m. and injured two people, according to authorities on the scene. All lanes were reopened at 5 p.m., and congestion was past LA 415 at Lobdell.
A second wreck happened a short time after the first was reported on the Westbound side of the bridge, blocking one lane of traffic there. Congestion was reported past Essen Lane on I-10 when the lane reopened.
DOTD recommended drivers headed east take the LA 415 exit at Lobdell and use US 190 to cross the river at the old bridge until congestion eased in that area.
