BATON ROUGE - Texas-based Austin Bridge and Road has filed suit against the Department of Transportation and Development claiming "the state is responsible for endless project delays."
The state fired Austin Bridge and Road last November claiming "the company continued to fall short on its contractually required completion schedule," the release said.
Lead counsel for the construction company Martin Rose said, "You cannot blame Austin Bridge and Road for things that are not its responsibility, and then drag the company through the mud by firing it from a project that it was working to complete."
The filing also claimed the state increased the number of days construction could take place "due to high traffic associated with holidays or football games" which, in essence, slowed progress.
