I-10 closures cause traffic snarls in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Traffic is again slowing to a crawl in Baton Rouge today, after wrecks forced closures on I-10 in both directions.
A wreck just before 11 a.m. in Baton Rouge closed I-10 East at Essen for a time while police removed vehicles involved, which included an 18-wheeler. EMS said the people involved only had minor injuries, and it was reopened shortly after noon.
An overnight wreck which closed I-10 West near Lafayette had already backed up westbound traffic, which was being diverted onto La. 415, across the Mississippi River Bridge into Baton Rouge.
State Police said that closure could go on into the evening.
