METAIRIE - Two westbound lanes of I-10 closed Wednesday due to pavement buckling.

State Police advised motorists via Facebook of the lane closures in Jefferson Parish at Power Boulevard. Troopers said the buckling closed left and center lanes of the Interstate in an area about ten miles west of downtown New Orleans and three miles east of the I-10 bridge over the spillway between Kenner and LaPlace.

State Police said drivers headed toward Baton Rouge from New Orleans should consider using Airline Highway out of Jefferson Parish since the lane closures are causing traffic.

Troopers and DOTD are working to fix the failure.
