Husband, wife found dead in Slidell in apparent murder-suicide
SLIDELL - A husband and wife were found dead inside their Slidell area home in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office on Thursday identified the victims as 59-year-old Thomas Franklin and 57-year-old Debra Franklin. The parish coroner, Dr. Charles Preston, says both died of gunshot wounds.
Preston says Thomas Franklin's death has been ruled a suicide, while his wife's death has been ruled a homicide.
The sheriff's office says there were no signs of forced entry into the house and no evidence pointing to other parties being involved in the incident. Investigators say the bodies appeared to have been in the home for a day or more.
Deputies and investigators responded to the house after a neighbor reported finding the bodies.
