BATON ROUGE – A night-long fight between a husband and wife ended with both of them in the hospital and police expecting to file charges against the man.

Neither have been identified as of this post.

The situation started around 1 o'clock Friday morning when the couple began to argue over a fisticuff involving the man and someone else earlier in the day. The man was hoping to obtain surveillance video of his fight from a gas station on Airline Highway and while there was arguing with his wife over what he thought was her not backing him up during the earlier altercation with the unknown individual.

The wife, fearing for her safety, police said, commandeered a box truck and drove toward Baton Rouge Police Headquarters nearby. The husband pursued his wife in another car and clashed in the parking lot of the police department.

Things got even more bizarre when the husband was able to get on the truck. The wife, driving erratically, crashed into parts of the police building. The man was thrown from the truck and run over in the process.

Eventually, the woman found a police officer.

Both the husband and the wife were taken to the hospital.

The woman likely won't face charges. The husband, however, will be charged with domestic abuse/battery and second degree battery, police said.
