Husband demolished house
MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK- A man in New York is accused of demolishing his house without telling his wife and now faces a charge of criminal mischief.
Police found James Rhein using a excavator to knock down the house without removing any of the household items or having the utility company turn off the gas and electricity and water.
Officers say he dumped furniture, food and other belongings into a construction debris bin.
His wife owns the property.
Rhein told police he was tearing down the house because it had a bad foundation.
He's now free on bail.
