BATON ROUGE - Louisiana's tax-free holiday for people to get ready for hurricane season is this weekend.
The Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday runs this Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27.
During the annual two-day holiday, the state sales tax is waived on the first $1,500 of the sales price of the following items:
The sales tax exemption also extends to items placed in or taken out of layaway, and items ordered for immediate delivery.
