BATON ROUGE - A truck knocked down a utility pole in north Baton Rouge this afternoon, knocking out power to a few hundred people living in the area.
Emergency responders said the driver of the truck had a blowout, and swerved off the road to avoid hitting a car. It ran into the utility pole, snapping it in half.
Entergy said more than 275 people lost power as crews worked to replace the pole. Service was restored a short time later, but crews continued to work in the area replacing the pole this afternoon.
