Humane Society: Kittens tossed onto roadways
MARRERO- The Humane Society of Louisiana says it has received reports of kittens being tossed on roadways in the New Orleans area.
A driver on Interstate 10 said he was driving from Mississippi to New Orleans on July 9 when he saw an outstretched arm tossing kittens onto the highway.
James McAllister said Monday that he followed two pickup trucks that appeared to be traveling together and reported their license tag numbers to New Orleans police. He said all of the kittens were run over by moving vehicles.
The Humane Society also said a Jefferson Parish woman reported two kittens thrown from moving cars in Marrero last month.
New Orleans police spokeswoman Shereese Harper says police are conducting an investigation based upon the numbers McAllister provided.
