Workers clearing land for a new subdivision found a human skull in a wooded area southeast of DeRidder.

Authorities say a skull and a section of one finger were found on the ground and may have been exposed to the elements for at least 10 to 15 years.

Authorities are checking for any reports of missing persons which may assist in identification of the remains.
