HS student questioned in parents' deaths
Update: A Ouachita Parish sheriff's detective said two people were shot to death, and their son is being questioned.
Deputy Meghan Russell wouldn't give the victims' names but said Friday both were killed by a shotgun.
Schools superintendent Bob Webber said the 16-year-old student was taken into custody without incident at West Ouachita High School. He said deputies came to the rural school about 8 a.m., and the 1,500 students were in lockdown until about 9:45 a.m.
Media outlets said the couple was killed Thursday night, and the killings were reported about 7 a.m. Friday. The family lived about 10 miles from the school.
Webber said the school closed at 11 a.m. because students were upset by the killings and a report that another student had committed suicide.
