BATON ROUGE - The Capitol Area United Way is ready to accept donations for families impacted by the historic flooding that took place over the weekend.

While the rescue efforts are still ongoing, soon there will be many residents of the region who need some help, having lost everything to the rising water.

United Way supported programs with nonprofit Community Impact Partner Agencies aim to provide food, clothing, counseling and other vital services.

Citizens in need of services should dial 2-1-1. VIA LINK 2-1-1 is available 24/7. VIA LINK is a partner agency of United Way and provides information, referrals, training, and crisis intervention to people, organizations, and communities so they can help themselves and others.
