Housing deadline extended for victims of Gustav, Ike
Victims of hurricanes Gustav and Ike, who live in Louisiana, have another year to stay in government-supplied mobile homes, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The state had requested the extension to March 2011, saying the March 2010 deadline didn't allow enough time for families affected by the storms to move into safer or more permanent housing.
About 640 units were provided after the storms in September 2008. 450 of those are still in use.
The agency also granted Texas' request for a four-month extension.
