A 19-year-old in Alaska got six months in prison for being the housesitter from hell when he allowed a prized sled dog and two chickens to die of thirst and then stole the homeowner's car, to boot. Blair Lawless pleaded guilty to car theft and animal cruelty. Twelve other sled dogs and five other chickens had also been left without water for days as temperaturs reached the 70s, a heat wave in Alaska. Lawless was a family friend who had been paid to take care of the animals.
