GREENWOOD, La. - For the second time in less than a week, a house fire in Louisiana has led to a marijuana arrest.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office said Saturday that firefighters called deputies to the site of a fire near Greenwood, and the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit found 47 marijuana plants
behind the house and about 3.1 ounces of marijuana inside.
A news release says 63-year-old Lewis Jackson was booked Thursday on one count each of cultivating and possessing marijuana.
The Sheriff's Office website showed he was still in jail Saturday.
It was not clear whether he had an attorney.
Last Sunday, Jefferson Parish firefighters answered a report of billowing smoke in Harvey and found a back room full of potted marijuana plants.
Sheriff's deputies arrested two men.
