House destroyed by Wednesday evening inferno
BATON ROUGE- A roaring house fire is under investigation.
Firefighters were dispatched to the house on Vouvray, in the Vignes Lake neighborhood off Hoo Shoo Too and South Vignes, just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Emergency responders said when they arrived, part of the house was engulfed in flames and there was smoke pouring from attic vents.
It took crews about twenty minutes to get the fire under control.
No on was home when the fire started, and there were no injuries reported related to battling the inferno. The fire, captured on video by people who live nearby, appears intense.
Investigators said about 60% of the house was burned and the rest of the home had smoke damage. The cause is undetermined.
Two adults and two children lived at the house.
