Hours after big rig wreck, Plank still closed
BATON ROUGE - Traffic officials reopened one direction of Plank Road in Baton Rouge hours after an 18-wheeler wreck shut it down Tuesday.
One of the southbound lanes of Plank Road at Thomas Road was reopened around 5:30 p.m. Wreckage of a big rig which turned onto its side and twisted its trailer, spilling a load of wood on the road, was still on the site four hours after the initial wreck, which happened around 1:45 p.m.
State Police said there were only minor injuries from the initial wreck.
DOTD said drivers should detour on the following route:
* Northbound - LA 67 / Plank Road to LA 423 Thomas Road, to LA 19, to LA 64, then back to LA 67
