HOUMA, La.- A Houma police officer was arrested for allegedly getting into a fight outside a bar in Thibodaux
Dex Martin, who has been with the Houma police department since March 2010, and Keli Defiore, of Thibodaux, were seen on the street pushing each about 2:15 a.m. Friday morning.
When officers arrived, Martin, who was off duty at the time, was seen with both arms wrapped around Difiore trying to restrain her.
The Courier reported both were taken to the police department.
Martin and Difiore were issued citations for disturbing the peace by fighting and released. Police say that if convicted, both face up to 90 days in jail and a $100 fine.
Martin has not been suspended as a result of the accusations, said Houma Police Chief Todd Duplantis
