Houma man dies in crash after hitting utility pole
HOUMA - State police say a 37-year-old man from Houma was killed Monday morning when his pickup truck veered off La. Highway 316, hit a utility pole and ended up in drainage ditch.
Gustavo Meza-Andino was driving south on Highway 316 in Lafourche Parish when for unknown reasons his truck went off the road, came back onto the highway and state police say he then overcorrected a second time causing his vehicle to veer off the highway. State police say his vehicle overturned, struck a utility pole and came to rest on its roof in a drainage ditch.
Authorities say he was wearing a seat back and that his vehicle was submerged into the drainage ditch. State police say he was the only person involved in the crash.
