State Police in Pennsylvania say a person who knew an 8-year-old girl last seen 26 years ago has provided the most specific information about her disappearance in decades. Cherrie Mahan vanished after getting off a school bus in Cabot on Feb. 22, 1985. She is best known as the first child featured on the "Have You Seen Me?" direct-mail ads developed that year. State police say the new information leaves little hope that's she still alive, but troopers won't detail what the information is.
