Hornets owner has cancer

The owner of the New Orleans Hornets has prostate cancer.

George Shinn made the announcement in a news release Friday, saying he was recently diagnosed.

Shinn moved the Hornets from Charlotte, North Carolina to New Orleans in 2002.

He is optimistic that he will conquer the disease, saying he and his wife, "remain strong in our faith
and will maintain a positive attitude as I battle this with intense fervor and drive."
