Honeymoon Price repeated 60 years Later
A couple from Connecticut will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for the same price they paid on their honeymoon, $16.80 per night. The rooms run $319 a night, now. Isidore and Joan Swartz of East Lyme, Conn. still have their original bill from March 2, 1952. The hotel charges the original room rate for returning guests celebrating a milestone. The hotel says two to three couples a year take advantage of the deal. The couple met on a blind date in 1950.
