Homeowner arrested in deadly shooting
BATON ROUGE- Baton Rouge Police arrested a homeowner after a deadly shooting in Baton Rouge. It happened in the 1700 block of North 26th Street overnight.
Police identified the victim as Keith Brown, 23, of Baton Rouge.
According to investigators the homeowner, Richard Alexander, 28, of Baton Rouge, called police to report that he shot someone who was breaking into his house.
When police got to the scene they found Brown lying in the driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Brown was taken to the hospital where he died.
According to detectives, Alexander admitted to chasing and shooting the suspect who broke into his home. After further investigation police arrested Alexander. He was booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with manslaughter.
