Hoko's home away from home
GONZALES - With his family hailing from the Pacific island nation of Tonga, LSU guard Hoko Fanaika has come a long way, both literally and figuratively, to arrive in South Louisiana with the Tigers.
Luckily, Hoko quickly made friends in the small, but close-knit Polynesian community in the area.
Chris Alo and Matt Palelei, both Polynesian transplants from Utah, befriended Hoko and helped him feel at home even when his family was thousands of miles away.
Last weekend, Hoko's family - who now live in California - came to visit the Tigers senior for the first time, and WBRZ Sports 2 joined Hoko's family and friends in Gonzales to share in the great food, fun, and fellowship of Polynesian culture.
