Baton Rouge Police Department investigators have located and recovered the vehicle that was involved in a deadly hit and run crash on Interstate 10 near College Drive over the weekend. The crash occurred early Sunday morning, killing 20-year-old Mikel Cara Carson of Hammond.
Investigators received information that the vehicle, a 2005 Ford expedition, had been brought to a body shop in Metairie for repairs. The vehicle was located and impounded Thursday afternoon by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and returned to Baton Rouge for further examination.
Police said they had not yet located or interviewed the registered owner, nor determined who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
