Hillary Clinton in Pakistan
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is trying to convince Pakistanis that American interest in their country expands beyond the fight against Islamist militants. Clinton announced new U.S. pledged aid and projects, worth $500 million.
The projects include new dams for electricity and aid for hospitals.
While speaking at a town hall meeting, she urged Pakistan and India to develop a neighboring relationship, and said Pakistan could benefit from more trade with India.
Clinton also said she was concerned over Pakistan's nuclear activities. The country's architect of the nuclear program confessed to sharing technology to Iran, North Korea, and Libya in 2004.
