Hill named SEC Offensive Player of the Week
BATON ROUGE - The Southeastern Conference tapped LSU running back Jeremy Hill as their Offensive Player of the Week for his high-scoring contribution to the Tigers' 35-21 win against Auburn.
The sophomore racked up a career-high 184 rushing yards and picked up three touchdowns on 25 carries. His first two carries in the game both resulted in touchdowns, helping LSU jump to a 14-0 lead in the first few minutes of the game.
No. 6 LSU's offense picked up a total 457 yards, split evenly between passing and rushing, in the contest.
It's Hill's second SEC honor. The conference named him Co-Freshman of the Week last year after LSU's win over third-ranked South Carolina.
LSU travels to face No. 9 Georgia next on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
LSU head football coach Les Miles will address the media at his "Lunch with Les" news conference today. WBRZ will stream the conference live online and air it on WBTR, Cox Cable channel 19.
