Highway 42 to be four lanes
PRAIRIEVILLE - Relief for drivers in Prairieville is coming soon. The Department of Transportation and Development plans to widen Highway 42 from Airline highway to just before Highway 44.
The construction will include sidewalks and bike paths along with a median running the entire stretch of the project.
DOTD said the expansion falls under their Complete Streets Program, and only three properties will be bulldozed to build the roadway.
There will be a open house public hearing to view the plans and ask questions to DOTD staffers. It will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Oak Grove Primary School from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. The address is 17550 Old Jefferson Hwy Prairieville, Louisiana.
