Highly touted baseball prospect says he'll take LSU vs. anywhere in the draft
METAIRIE - The LSU baseball team will have to replace some great players from last season,
and they could get some help from another guy expected to go early in the draft.
Gregory Deichmann from Brother Martin says, no matter where he's taken in Thursday's amateur draft, he'll be heading to LSU next year.
The Crusaders shortstop is expected to go in the first round of the draft,
which means he could be turning down millions of dollars to play for the Tigers.
Deichmann says, money can wait.
"Playing for the Purple and gold is something every little kid wants to do growing up in New Orleans," Deichmann said. "Being able to make that dream a reality, it's just amazing."
