BATON ROUGE - Motorists who travel through LSU’s campus as a part of their regular schedule may need to alter their route as traffic workers have closed part of Highland Road to perform emergency sewer line repairs.

Highland Road between South Stadium Drive and Tower Drive near Parker Coliseum was fully closed as of 7 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be diverted around the closure via East Parker Blvd. and South Stadium Road.

Traffic officials say there is no definitive timeframe for the completion of the repairs at this time, but an update is expected to be released as soon as that information becomes available.

As for alternate routes, city-parish traffic officials say motorists should look to utilize East Parker Blvd., South Stadium Drive, Ceba Lane and Nicholson Drive to avoid the closed portion of roadway. The map below indicates the area that will be closed, and some possible alternative ways to get through campus.
