High school marching bands to compete at Dutchtown

GEISMAR - Dutchtown High School is getting ready for its 10th annual High School Marching Contest.

The "Dutchtown Sound" won't compete since they're hosting the competition, but 16 other Louisiana high schools and 2,000 students will march to the beat this weekend:

Plaquemines
Lutcher
Central
C.E. Byrd
St. Thomas More Catholic
Ponchatoula
Erath
New Iberia
Sam Houston
East Ascension
Fontainebleau
Denham Springs
Walker
Parkway
St. Amant

There will also be a performance from the Spirit of Northwestern College Band.

Everything gets underway Saturday at 1:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $5.00, but students can watch the show for $3.00.
