BATON ROUGE – An 18-year-old pleaded guilty today to stabbing another girl to death during a fight last year in Baton Rouge.

India Hickman entered the plea today before Judge Jackson in district court. She had been accused of manslaughter in the death of 15-year-old Eltonique Clark during a fight in Brookstown.

According to family members, Clark was trying to protect her younger sister from Hickman’s knife when she was stabbed in the neck.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for March 28. She could see either no jail time, or up to 40 years in prison.
