THIBODAUX- Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced two arrests that led to police seizing a gun and $10,000 in drugs.

Police arrested 20-year-old Alex Smith and 20-year-old Ariyaun DeJean for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of weapon in the presence of CDS, possession of hydrocodone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Thibodaux Police Narcotics Investigation secured a search warrant in the early morning of Apr. 14 for a home in the 200 block of North 10th Street.

Police found Smith and DeJean in bed with a loaded gun under the covers. Police also found over 400 grams of marijuana with a street-value of over $10,000, hydrocodone pills and cash inside the home.

Both Smith and DeJean were arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.

DeJean was released from the detention center the same day around 6:55 p.m. after posting her $45,000 bond. Smith was also released shortly after Smith, posting his bond at the same amount.
