PRAIRIEVILLE- A hearing is being held this morning to determine the future of a troubled strip club in Ascension Parish.

The Suthern Kumfort's lounge on Airline Highway in Prairieville has been shut down since a murder there May 5.

Today the registered owner, Steve Duke, was scheduled to meet with the Ascension Parish Council to get a denied license renewed.

Last week authorities arrested Duke and Charles Puckett, the man sheriff's deputies believe really owns the bar, on counts of filing false documents over the club's ownership.

They say Puckett tried to hide that he bought the business because he's a registered sex offender, and cannot own a sexually-oriented business.
