It's no secret people love fried foods and sweet tea in Louisiana, but they are linked to health problems in the south.

People who eat a lot of fried foods, hamburgers, hot dogs, and drank sugary drinks are 40% more likely to suffer a stroke.

That's compared to people who only indulged in those foods once a month.

Those who ate a lot of vegetable, fruits, fish and whole grains had lower risks of stroke.

What you eat, affect how well you sleep.

People who got less than seven hours of sleep were more likely to consume the most calories and drank less water.

Those who got a good night sleep show the highest food variety, and tend to have better overall health.

The worst of this bad flu season may be behind us.

Health officials say the number of states reporting intense or widespread cases of the virus is down.

Deaths from it have also dropped in the last two weeks.

It's good news since the flu season started a month earlier than normal and spread fast.

There concern over a new report that predicts a steep rise in the number of people with Alzheimer's Disease.

It says four million people will be affected with it by 2050.

That's nearly double the current number of people with Alzheimer's, which usually robs people of their faculties.

The authors point to the aging baby-boom generation.

They say the best preparations is more research on prevention and treatments.
