Hayden's daughter accuses him of fondling her
BATON ROUGE - Stephanie Hayden Ford, the daughter of 'Sons of Guns' star William Hayden, said on national television that her father inappropriately kissed and fondled her when she was a 12-year-old girl.
Ford made the accusation on the Dr. Phil show, saying she was "very afraid" of her father and co-star on the cancelled reality TV show.
Hayden faces three sets of rape and other sex crime charges in East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes, all with children as victims. One of the East Baton Rouge victims is still a child, and said Hayden repeatedly raped her for more than a year's time. A 34-year-old woman said Hayden raped her while she was 12 and staying with his family, while the person who filed charges in Livingston Parish said she was 11 years old when Hayden inappropriately touched and kissed her.
Law enforcement agencies do not identify victims of sex crimes.
After Hayden's second arrest his company, Red Jacket Firearms, legally separated from him and his TV show was cancelled. Ford and other family members initially defended the allegations against Hayden, saying they were being made by someone he was no longer associated with who wanted to take advantage of his celebrity status.
Thursday, Ford said she decided to come forward after speaking further with the first victim. Ford said she felt like she let her sister down by not coming forward before now.
"When it happened to me, I was immediately depressed, I didn't want to be around him (Hayden), I started carrying knives," she said.
Hayden remains in jail on a $250,000 bond.
