Hay bales cause I-10 traffic issues
BATON ROUGE - State Police warned drivers to watch for congestion after a trailer hauling bales of hay lost its load on I-10 near Ascension Parish.
Troopers said a single vehicle wrecked on I-10 East near the parish line. They said the vehicle lost control and hit the cable barriers in the median, dumping its load of hay.
Troopers were able to get all lanes back open after the initial accident, but a second accident related to the congestion closed the left lane around 3:20 p.m. causing further delays.
All lanes were open again shortly after 4 p.m. with traffic backed up to Siegen Lane.
