BATON ROUGE - Hawker Beechcraft is officially not moving its operations to Baton Rouge.
The airplane manufacturer announced a new 10 year deal to stay in Wichita, Kansas. It's part of a $45 million dollar incentives package from state and local leaders.
The company negotiated with the state for more than a year.
Today, Governor Bobby Jindal said the timing was not right to make a move. He says Hawker could not guarantee the number of jobs it said it would provide. Jindal says the private airplane industry is evolving due to the national economy.
